Chopper Spins Out of Control into Palm Fronds at Popular Southern California Coast
A helicopter hovering near a well-attended California coastline unexpectedly began spiraling out of control, ultimately descending rapidly and plunging into a line of palm fronds as spectators observed.
Footage shared on social media depict the chopper starting to spin above Huntington Beach then plunging towards the edge of the coast, where it gets stuck amidst palms and a steps near the coastal road.
First Aid Update
Local firefighters said five persons were taken to hospital comprising a pair who were in the chopper and were “extracted safely from the crash site” following the incident on that day.
Three individuals on the street were harmed. Details on their condition were not yet released.
The reason for the accident was not yet disclosed.
